What's Happening in October?

Dear Friends,

What Support Looks Like

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Stop Drop and Dance Breast Cancer fundraiser last Thursday for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, hosted by Alison Williams, Melissa Irish and Shel Saxon.  In November, Alison, her husband Duncan, her brother Philip and sister-in-law Lisa, will all be walking for 3 days with a total of 60 miles in support of breast cancer awareness and research!  Shel and Melissa will be walking 1 day for 20 miles and volunteering another day!

Thank you for raising $2,725 by dancing together, and congratulations to their whole team of walkers, "Tremendous Tatas," for raising over $18,000 so far!

Ali, Melissa and Shel brought pink streamer decorations to hang up, shared pink bandanas and accessories for dancers to wear, and provided refreshments and desserts after class, and Leslie Dinham baked red velvet cupcakes with pink cream cheese frosting.  Thank you also to Erin Meyers and Sara Rainbolt for coming up with a creative clothespin idea and asking dancers to bring a cute bra to hang up in class!

"After all, what better way to show your SUPPORT for this great cause?"

(Compliments to Shel for that pun!)

Important Dates in October

Please mark your calendars for the following special events and changes to our regular Saturday schedule during the month of October!

Saturday, October 11th, 9:30am-10:30am @UUMarin

B4BC Boarding for Breast Cancer Stop Drop and Dance Fundraiser

In light of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we're doing another PINK fundraiser!  Please join Lisa Hudson for the 6th year in a row (and 8th fundraiser) as we dance for B4BC - a non-profit organization she co-founded in 1996.  B4BC hosts year-round grassroots events, educational outreach, and survivor wellness retreats to further its mission of promoting early detection and a healthy, active lifestyle as the best means of breast cancer prevention.

Saturday, October 18th: NO CLASS

Class is Cancelled

I will be traveling with my best girlfriends from middle school, junior high and college for our annual trip to a different state!  We've lost track (and we're collaboratively losing our memories!), but I think this might be State #16??  This year we are going to Chicago!  Please take an on-demand recording of one of our previously-live classes (free for members or available to purchase a-la-carte for non-members).
