The Year Of The Water Tiger
On Tuesday, the first day of February, it is Lunar New Year and 2022 is the Year of the Water Tiger. Here are 3 simple ways you can celebrate this special holiday:
- Wear red as a symbol of good fortune, luck, happiness, health, and joy.
- Exchange gifts (but avoid the bad luck number 4!).
- Feast with your family and eat long noodles for long life or dumplings for wealth.
Wishing you the strength and courage of the tiger, balanced with the patience and flow of the water. May 2022 bless you with health, wealth, and happiness!
February 5th:
Happy Birthday Marti Rule and Sophie Davies!
Last Tuesday, we had a double birthday celebration for Meggan Arnoux and Jen Liao! Meggan showed up in-person with her gals wearing tie-dye clothes and neon-colored socks, and Jen, who lives an hour away, danced from home in her amazing closet! Both these ladies were post-pandemic students who discovered Stop Drop and Dance purely online: Meggan started dancing with us through our free YouTube videos, and Jen started trying out Zoom classes when we first went into shut down.
The silver lining of the pandemic is getting to connect online with many of you who otherwise would not have been able to join our community because of distance!
This coming Saturday, February 5th, we're having another double birthday celebration for Marti and Sophie, who will both attend in-person at "The Garage" (1 Thorndale Drive in San Rafael). They will each choose half of the songs for our 75 minutes special dance party!
Later in the month, we will also celebrate Kim Stuart's birthday on Thursday, February 17th! Mark your calendars!

Stop Drop and VOTE for Gina Daly!
We are so excited for our very first campaign dance party in support of Gina Daly for Marin County Supervisor in the upcoming June 7th elections! Gina is a fellow mom of 2 young kids in San Rafael, and she has been attending our dance classes during the past year.
In her 20's, Gina worked for Senator Dianne Feinstein in Washington, DC and San Francisco. Currently, she is UC Berkeley's federal lobbyist and a San Rafael Schoolboard Trustee. More on Gina next week!

Live Classes Cancelled
This year for my kids ski week, we're doing just that... skiing! We've got our EPIC season passes and we're excited to get back to the snow one more time before spring officially arrives.
Members will be able to access all on-demand fitness and yoga content, including all our 8x8 and 20x7 series challenges, and the prior week's recorded Stop Drop and Dance plus HIIT classes will be available for the entire week to view. Non-members can purchase individual on-demand classes a-la-carte.
