Dear Friends,
This Week Only!
Who remembers our very first rental location duringthe pandemic? (Hint: it was also where we held our outdoor dance-a-thon and learned NOT to dance on grass for 3 hours!)
We are back at the Elks Lodge in San Rafael this Tuesday, June 14th and Thursday, June 16th at 9:30am because our regular weekday venue, UU Marin, has a kids camp this week.
Located in downtown San Rafael at 1312 Mission Avenue, there is plenty of parking in the back of the building, then follow the sound of our music to the Maple Lawn! We'll be dancing in an outdoor, partially-covered patio area. *I am not sure we will have bathroom access!* Zoom will still be an option if you cannot join in person.
Thank you so much to Anna Barker for connecting us to this venue!
Come and celebrate birthdays for Laika Chow on Tuesday and Sara Rainbolt on Thursday!

Vivalon Fundraiser on Saturday for Karin Conn!
Happy Birthday to Karin Conn, who discovered our classes last Fall by complete accident when she came to attend another meeting (that had changed locations), and found us dancing instead! Since she was dressed in workout clothes, we invited her to join our class right then and there... and to our pleasant surprise, she DID!!! Karin has been dancing 3x a week since that moment, and has been such a wonderful addition to our community!
Join Karin as she celebrates her "Born-in-'61" 61st birthday this Saturday by dancing together and donating to Vivalon!
With your donation, you will get a Zoom link to join online, or directions to our in-person "Garage" venue! Even if you can't make class, your donation is greatly appreciated, and all donors will receive the recording of class on-demand for 2 days afterwards!

Happy Birthday Recap!
We had two75 minute birthday dance celebrations this past week. The first one on Tuesday was for Keala Landry, Kelly Merrick and Janet Ryan.
Quick story about these ladies... After renting out the Elks Lodge for a short time during the pandemic, I ended up teaching at the parking lot spaces in front of Pelo Fitness in San Rafael for 8 months. It was such a blessing because the moms who drove by that 3rd street parking lot lived near the Glenwood area and they ended up coming to dance class! Now they continue to come dance in Terra Linda, and I am so grateful.
Then this past Thursday, we celebrated another 75 minutes with Kristen Sperling! She is someone I overlap circles with from our husband's working together to our kids going to the same school. I really appreciated that she shared about class with other parents from her boys' classrooms and we had several new faces attend class for the first time!
Thank you to everyone, new and regular, who were able to join us this past week!

#MakingLifeBeautifulDay
Yesterday, June 11th, was my hubby's birthday, but he doesn't like me posting about him on social media, so instead of bringing *direct* attention to him, I'll *indirectly* acknowledge that it is not a coincidence his birthday falls on the same day as "National Making Life Beautiful" Day.
"Beauty comes in many forms. From a kind word to a gentle soul, those who lift up others and find strength in the sparest strands of hope bring beauty into this world. Some send messages in the form of bold art while others roll up their sleeves in times of need. Those beautiful people heal the wounded, ease the hearts of the weary, and empower others to be the best person they can be to make life so very beautiful."
- from the National Day Calendar
Say thank you this week to the people you observe who are making life beautiful, in the biggest and smallest ways. Or take a moment out of your busy life to pause and do something unexpected for someone next to you.
I am who I am today because from day one of meeting him at the age of 18, my hubby has always been compassionate, supportive, and appreciative that my imperfections and weaknesses are also my beauty marks.
What a special national holiday, right?
Let's make life beautiful.
Love,
Grace
