Dear Friends,
Thank you for supporting the JED Foundation!
On Saturday, we danced in-person and on Zoom together to celebrate Marianne Jacobson's birthday! Thank you to everyone who was able to make it and for your patience as we dealt with yet another hiccup that delayed our start time by 15 minutes (the garage venue doors weren't open when we first arrived).
Nevertheless, we raised $3855 and joined the millions of JED's supporters committed to protecting emotional health and preventing suicide for our nation's teens and young adults. Marianne made the donation in honor of her friend's son, Owen Gerrity.

Happy Birthday Marianne and thank you everyone for making a difference together!

Happy Birthday Gail Esh & Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Last Thursday, we celebrated Gail Esh's birthday with a joint 80's theme plus green for St. Patrick's Day! She came up and danced for the final 3 songs not only in class but also at the dance-a-thon last week! Love to see more and more of our dancers getting comfortable to get up front =)
Please join us THIS Thursday as we celebrate Sunny St. Germain's birthday with an appropriate "Golden Sunshine" theme! Amaya Josephs, who used to come regularly during high school with her mama Allyson, will also be visiting home from college and will split the 75 minute playlist with Sunny!
Please wear your gold "Shine Your Light" tanks, or anything yellow or mustard color on Thursday!

Looking Ahead Into April
Save the date for our next fundraiser Stop Drop and Dance class on Saturday, April 1st with our host Jessica Kissane and her daughter Cassidy Kissane! Every year around this time, we do a rainbow-themed Stop Drop and Dance class in "The Garage" for Ruby's Rainbow and the 321 Pledge! This is our 4th year supporting this wonderful organization!
The 3/21 Pledge is a program developed by Ruby's Rainbow, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of adult students with Down syndrome by helping them achieve their dreams of higher education and independence, while spreading awareness about their capabilities and general awesomeness.
Even if you cannot make the class, your donation is appreciated!

NO CLASSES April 8-15th for Spring Break!
On my social media a week and a half ago, for my birthday wish I asked everyone to share something that made them smile. Something unexpected. Something from their regular day. Something small.
Jennifer Gonzalez, who Zooms and drops in-person to class regularly, wrote:
"Something that made me smile was seeing a man walking around with a rainbow parakeet on his shoulder yesterday. It was such a beautiful little bird."
Guess what?
A few days ago, my daughters and I were driving through downtown San Rafael at a stoplight, and THAT man crossed the street right in front of our car, except the rainbow parakeet... was nestled in his HAIR!!!
It was such a silly moment because I remembered Jennifer's story, and we were all laughing at this funny sight!!! Then in a panic as the light turned green, I told my daughter to take a photo of the man and bird! So happy she captured it.
The simplest things can make us smile.
Let's all smile more.
Love,
Grace
