Syria & Turkey Earthquake DONATION Class & LAST WEEK For Dance-A-Thon Shirt!!!

February 9, 2023

February 8, 2023

Dear Friends,

Donation Class for Syria and Turkey THIS SATURDAY

Every time I open my phone, the number of fatalities from the Turkey and Syria earthquakes increases.  As of now (Wednesday evening), it just passed 15,000.

Let's do SOMETHING.

Something is better than nothing.  Will you help me raise money for UNICEF in the next 36 hours?  UNICEF is a reputable organization that already has been in the field in Syria and Turkey providing assistance and relief.  Let's help support them.

Join us THIS Saturday, February 11th at 9:30am for a Stop Drop and Dance Donation Class!

With your donation, you can either join us in-person at One Thorndale Drive in San Rafael, or you can join us virtually.  (Look for an Eventbrite email confirmation and scroll down to find the Zoom link).  In addition, everyone who donates will get a recording of our class for one week, to take our Stop Drop and Dance class on-demand from home!

Even if you are not interested in dancing, please consider donating to our fundraiser by clicking below.  Thank you for your generosity and compassion!

Last Week To Get a FREE Shirt!

Our last Stop Drop and Dance-A-Thon was in October 2020, two and a half years ago!  Since we were fresh into Covid, we found a venue that was all outdoors and danced on the grass for 3 hours in the sun!  We were social distancing and danced more than 6 feet apart, with a maximum of 75 people based on the county rules about venue space. This year's vibe will be more similar to our first Dance-A-Thon in 2019 because it will be indoors, dark, and in the evening!  We'll get together, get sweaty, and get time to eat and hang out afterwards.

We already have over 75 people attending with plenty more space for YOU and your friends!

We will continue to sell tickets up until the week or so before, however, there is only ONE WEEK left to get your FREE "Never Gonna Not Dance Again" shirt ($28 value) included with your Dance-a-thon ticket purchase! We are only doing pre-orders for the shirts, so after February 15th, very limited quantities *may* be available for purchase, but are not guaranteed. Don't miss your chance to get your free tank and match everyone on March 11th!

Invite your friends and purchase your ticket today!

*After your purchase, you will be added to a 2023 Dance-a-thon email group and you will receive the dance of the day in your inbox to practice (with the option to opt-out) - we are on Day 14 of 44!

What If I Just Want The Shirt?

If you cannot make the Dance-a-thon but would still like to purchase our new tank (or t-shirt for men and kids), no problem!  Orders will be accepted only until February 15th. You can choose to pay for shipping costs or select "local pick up" if you plan to come to class in-person when the shirts arrive.

Dancing With The National Charity League!

Thank you to the National Charity League San Rafael Mission Belles Chapter and Megan Williams for inviting us to lead a private Stop Drop and Dance class last weekend at the Mill Valley Golf Clubhouse!

We support and love the mission of the National Charity League, a mother / daughter nonprofit organization focused on community service, leadership and philanthropy.  What a fantastic opportunity for daughters in grades 7th through 12th!

Thank you to all the mamas (Patronesses) and daughters (Tiktockers) who came to sweat and smile together!

Sending YOU Some Love And Positivity

I close out this newsletter with a little bit of inspiration from Lizzo, who just won the "Record of the Year" in the 2023 Grammy's this past Sunday.  If you haven't watched her speech, it is emotional and inspiring:

"Now that I'm up here and I'm calm, I want to dedicate this award to Prince. When we lost Prince, I decided to dedicate my life to making positive music.

I don't care if my positivity bothers you, What's wrong with you? And this was at a time when positive music and feel-good music wasn't mainstream at that point. I felt very misunderstood. I felt on the outside looking in. But I stayed true to myself because I wanted to make the world a better place so I had to be that change to make the world a better place.  And now, I look around, and there are all these songs that are about loving our bodies and feeling comfortable in our skin and feeling good! And I'm just so proud to be a part of it.

I'd like to believe that not only can people do good, but we just are good. We are good inherently. And anybody at home who feels misunderstood or on the outside looking in, like I did, just stay true to yourself, because I promise you, you will find people, you will attract people.

And lastly, because I feel like there are so many G.O.A.T.'d artists. Beyoncé, whoo! In the fifth grade, I skipped school to see you perform. Where you at, Beyoncé -- my eyes are wet. Hah! You changed my life. You sang that gospel medley. And the way you made me feel, I was like I want to make people feel this way with my music. So thank you so much. You clearly are the artist of our lives!"

I love how Lizzo shows respect and recognizes her role models.
I love how she shares about real struggles we all face: to be understood and seen.
I love how she is unafraid to dream big and bold.
I love how she encourages all of us to stay true to who we are.
I love the idea that we attract people who we align with.

Make the world a better place just be being YOU.

Love,
Grace
