Redwood High School Girls Basketball Bonding!
Last Wednesday, we kicked off the new 2024 year with a RHS Girls Varsity and Freshman Basketball team bonding Stop Drop and Dance class!
We turned off all the lights in the gym and had a one-hour, loud and sweaty dance class together. It was cross-training and endurance mixed with a whole lot of smiles, laughter and freedom to be silly and crazy!
Girls took turns dancing up front and at the end we had a Freshman versus Varsity "Da Da Ding" jumping dance off with the coaches KK Korst and Zach Borello in the center of the mosh pit!
A huge thank you to KK for reaching out to organize this team building activity to create a fun, different, and wild shared experience together! Thank you also to our backup dancers Marianne Jacobson, Erin Meyers and Eliza Deschfor leading all the dances up front!

Our Power With Grace community will be in Belize for our retreat! Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 30th!
NO DANCING
Yesterday, Erin Meyers sent me a photo below from her Hot Chocolate run in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park that showed a huge red sign that said, "NO DANCING."
"Say what?!?" (Erin's response)
After Erin finished her run and went home, she immediately looked it up and sent the photo and article to me. Despite what the message actually says, the art installation encourages everyone to "dance to their heart's content" when they pass by it!
"Each of the nine letters is inscribed with a short, inspirational message from someone who ran afoul of somebody else’s rules, adding a bit of emotional complexity to the mix."
It's a fabulous message to not let others damper your heart's desire, and it's supposed to be up for quite a while. Maybe we should take a field trip when it gets drier and have a pop up class in front of that sign???
I think we DEFINITELY should.
