Postpartum Support Fundraiser SATURDAY!

June 1, 2023

May 31, 2023

Dear Friends,

A personal note from Alison Endemann, our birthday fundraiser host this Saturday...

My name is Alison Endemann, I have been a Labor and Delivery RN for over ten years and have three beautiful children.

As a nurse and someone who has struggled with postpartum anxiety and depression in the past, maternal mental health and supporting new mothers is very important to me.

I'd like to celebrate my 40th birthday by donating to the Marin Postpartum Support Center.

This non profit organization's mission is to provide a comprehensive support system and safe place for mothers/parents and families in need and to promote awareness and prevention of Perinatal Mental Health Disorders.  For more information, visit https://www.postpartumsc.org/

Even if you cannot make the dance class, please consider donating and joining Alison's cause!

With your donation, you are invited to dance with our host, Alison Endemann, in-person at "The Garage" - an outdoor, covered, parking structure located at 1 Thorndale Drive in San Rafael - for a 60 minute Stop Drop And Dance class!

  • Wear comfortable shoes, bring water, and be prepared for a non-stop cardio workout!
  • Children are welcome for free with a dancing parent.
  • Unfortunately, there are NO RESTROOMS available.
  • Come as early as 9:15am to save your spot in class.
  • If you are joining on ZOOM, look for the Eventbrite Confirmation in your email and scroll to the bottom to find your link.

If you can't make the class on Saturday morning, no worries! We will send out the on-demand recording to everyone who donates. Thank you for your support!

Black and Gold 50th!

Last Thursday we celebrated our first-ever triple 50th birthday for Rita Ribera Channon (May 27th), Keala Landry (May 31st)and Sharon Mor (June 5th)!

We danced to 75 minutes of their combined favorite songs and they inspired one another to get out of their comfort zones to dance up front the whole time!!! Just shows we are stronger together!

Thank you to Erin Meyers, Sara Rainbolt and Kathy Green for decorating the studio with birthday banners and thank you to Rita for buying tons of gold BLING accessories for everyone to wear for the black and gold theme! I haven't worn an arm band since my senior prom! =)

Thank you to everyone who came to dance with the birthday girls!!!

One Million Steps!

Last Saturday, thank you to everyone who came out to the Garage in their Shine Your Light tanks to celebrate Leslie Dinham's birthday!

Leslie has been an online member all pandemic long and she is a regular in-person dancer on Saturdays! Because of her job, she cannot come in-person or join live during the weekdays...

So when we had a DOUBLE Saturday class a few weeks ago for the Mother's Day event at Christ Presbyterian Church in Terra Linda in the morning, and the Marin Foster Care Danceathon in the afternoon, Leslie came to BOTH! Not only that... she also walked to/from Corte Madera from San Anselmo!!! Leslie is part of a one million step challenge and is leading the pack! Go Leslie!

Leslie is an inspirational superwoman who prioritizes a healthy lifestyle. We are grateful she is a part of our community!

Ready for Maycember to end??

Seriously, this time of year is insanely busy. I can barely get a fraction of my to-do list done each day, and am feeling overwhelmed and overscheduled! I can't even imagine how those of you with graduating kids are handling it!!!

For a little relatable humor, if you haven't watched the Holderness Family's Maycember parody, check out this video (thanks to my sister for sharing!).

Wear hot pink tomorrow if you'd like to record our new song!

There's a new song freshly released less than a week ago on Spotify from the Barbie movie, and it's called "Dance the Night" by Dua Lipa! We taught it yesterday in class and we will be recording it tomorrow, Thursday, June 1st in class for our YouTube channel!  We'll dance a normal 60 minute Stop Drop and Dance class, and those of you that want to be in our video (everyone welcome!) can stay for the extra 15 minutes (sorry no core tomorrow!).

"Watch me dance, dance the night away
My heart could be burnin', but you won't see it on my face
Watch me dance, dance the night away (Uh-huh)
I'll still keep the party runnin', not one hair out of place"

(Actually, we like to Stop Drop and Dance till we get sweaty and mess up our hair...=)

Love,

Grace
