Stop Drop And Dance-A-Thon 2020

Dear Friends,

I can barely hold my excitement in.

Dancing On The Deck

This past week, some of you joined me IN-PERSON dancing on my deck.  First of all, why didn't I teach outdoors all summer long?  Secondly, even my sweet neighbor from across the street, Fran, joined our dance party for the first time and is going to be a regular now.  And finally, if YOU want to dance in person too, email info@thepowerwithgrace.com to reserve a spot for any of our classes.  Otherwise, we'll see you on Zoom!

Donation Class for Boarding 4 Breast Cancer (B4BC)

Please join us this upcoming Saturday, October 3rd at 9:30am as we raise money for B4BC, a non-profit foundation founded by one of our dancers, Lisa Hudson, whose mission is to:

  • Prepare young people with education on early detection.
  • Promote the importance of maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle as the best means of breast cancer prevention.
  • Provide survivor support for those affected by breast cancer.

After you donate, you will get a Zoom link to join our dance class at 9:30am, or we have a few more slots to dance in person in San Rafael!  Email info@thepowerwithgrace.com to reserve a spot.

Stop Drop And Dance-A-Thon 2020

A huge thank you to Anna Barker, who is a member of the Elks Lodge in San Rafael, and Danusia Heilemann, who tagged me in Anna's Facebook post, because they brought ALIVE our Stop Drop And Dance-A-Thon on October 24th!!!!!  Elks Lodge has a beautiful, private, over 10,000 sq feet outdoor "Magnolia Terrace" courtyard where we can blast the music and dance socially distant from one another.  There's even a raised stage area for all of you who want to be backup dancers!

Tickets are ON SALE NOW!  We are already 1/3 booked just from announcing it over the weekend in my classes, so get your tickets ASAP.   Normally the Elks Lodge can fit 300 capacity in their Magnolia courtyard, but the Marin Health Department allows for 25% so that means we are limited to 75 tickets.  All details and safety precautions can be read on the Eventbrite page:

Stand Up For Something

The theme of 2020 continues.  The elections.  The Supreme Court.  Breonna Taylor.  HEART-BREAKING PROBLEMS surround us.

Today is Yom Kippur and if you haven't taken a stance against anti-semitism, please sign this petition (thank you Ammie) demanding action towards hostile students in Tam District.

Keep having those incredibly difficult conversations, especially with the ones closest to you.  Keep taking steps, big or small, towards equality and change.  Keep dancing or moving or exercising for your own mental and physical health.  Life is a dance, and we are dancing.

Love,

Grace
