NEW GEAR, Karaoke, & No Class Saturday!

March 17, 2026

March 16, 2026

Dear Friends,

Pre-Order Our NEW 2026 Apparel!

Our very first shirt was created back in 2019 for our first 3 hour Stop Drop and Dance-a-thon in San Francisco.  The shirt was a heathered black racerback tank with "Stop Drop and Dance" foil printed in cursive gold lettering.  Since then, we have printed shirts every year with song titles like "Better When I'm Dancing," "Never Gonna Not Dance Again," or "Shine Your Light," but it is time to bring back a classic "Stop Drop and Dance" shirt.

Thank you to our very own brand designer, Melanie Barti, and product concierge specialist, Marianne Jacobson, who have worked together to help redesign the "Stop Drop and Dance" brand for these new clothing pieces!

To guarantee your perfect size, we are offering pre-orders before the end of March!

Click the button below to check out our new styles, including a Flowy Cropped Tee, a Racerback Cropped Tank, a Knot Back Tank, and a Cropped Fleece Hoodie!  Size charts are included in the product descriptions and choose "Local Pick Up" to save on shipping charges.

CLASS IS CANCELED!

As some of you know, during the past 3 months, I have been busy choreographing for the Mark Day School Spring Musical, "Disney's Descendants!"  This Saturday begins an intense tech week with an 8-hour rehearsal, so I will be unable to teach on this day.  Thank you for understanding!

If you would like to watch the "Disney's Descendants" production that both my daughters and I have been a part of, the performances will be held at the Marin Showcase Theatre (10 Avenue of the Flags in San Rafael) on Thursday, March 26th at 5:30pm and Saturday, March 28th at 5:30pm!

We Raised $3500 for Ruby's Rainbow!

Thank you so much for supporting Cassidy Kissane and her entire family - Jessica, Jason, Charlotte, and Cam Cam - as they hosted our 7th annual 3/21 Pledge fundraiser for Ruby's Rainbow on Saturday! Our very first year, we started this tradition with Stephanie Byers and her son Toshi who live far from us, so the fundraiser was on Zoom! Then Jessica and Cassidy got involved and in the last 3 years, we have raised over $3000 which means we were able to personally award an adult with Down Syndrome a college scholarship!!!

This will be our 4th year awarding another college scholarship because YOU helped us raise over $3000! Thank you for making a difference and supporting individuals with Down Syndrome achieve their big dreams!

Our courageous and brave host, Cassidy, not only shared about the Ruby’s Rainbow organization in the beginning of class, but also performed a dance piece at the end of class that she had choreographed herself to, “This Is Me,” from “The Greatest Showman.” It was such a special treat for us to witness.

Thank you to the Kissane family for decorating our dance space, bringing rainbow accessories from headbands to socks, and even treating us to cupcakes and juice drinks after our workout! Thank you to everyone who joined on Zoom, came in-person to dance, or simply donated and supported Cassidy’s fundraiser.

Keep inspiring, Cassidy!

Thank you to Lisa Butcher, Sara Rainbolt, and Erin Meyers for organizing a super generous and much-appreciated community gift around the theme of skin care and pampering, and for all the thoughtful and sweet cards!  Thank you also for staying after class to enjoy yummy sweets and treats such as Leslie Dinham's cake!

You all sure know how to make a girl feel loved!

Just Can't Get Enough

Over the weekend, it was our school's Spring Fundraiser and the theme was 80's, "Just Can't Get Enough."  Two weeks ago, the organizers reached out to me and asked if I could put together a flash mob right after the live auction ended, with the intention of getting people from the tables to the dance floor.

Flash mob?

YES. 100% YES.

We started a spreadsheet of people we could ask to be in on it, and I went down my list of all the people who go to the same school and have taken my Stop Drop and Dance class before.  I choreographed an easy and fun dance (which I will add to our playlist just because), led one live session with about 15 dancers in attendance, and recorded the session for the other 25 dancers to practice at home.

On Saturday, I was beyond excited to surprise everyone, and it was such a special bonding moment to connect with the other dancers who were just as excited as I was.

Dance has a magical way of bringing so much joy, laughter, and connection with others!

When the moment came, I felt so proud seeing all the other dancers standing up at their tables and committing!!!  Sadly, the DJ cut our song super early so we only got to do 1/3 of the dance and didn't even make it up on stage for our finale... wahhh!

But some of us ended up redoing it later on the glow up dance floor.  Despite not going the way we hoped, it was a truly memorable and bonding experience to be a part of, and it did achieve our goal of getting everyone to the dance floor!

I really just can't get enough of dancing with all of you!

Hope to see you this week!

Love,

Grace
