*NEW CAPS* and No Class Halloween!

October 30, 2023

October 30, 2023

Dear Friends,

Introducing our newest COLLAB:
Power With Grace + Tommy Breeze Caps!

We've had tank tops, sweaters, and even leg warmers on sale in our apparel shop, but now we are beyond excited to add these super cute trucker hats to our wardrobe!

Tommy Breeze is a local Marin guy that works out of Fairfax and we are thrilled to support his small business! He helped to re-design our Power With Grace logo, and with each purchase, he individually sews on each embroidered patch for that personal touch and attention to detail!

We have a limited quantity of each color cap, so order yours before we sell out!

The first 100 caps will arrive before the holidays so these are perfect gifts for adults and for kids!  Choose the "Local Pick Up" option to save on shipping if you can grab your cap from San Rafael!

Pre-order your Power With Grace cap here!

Triple Scorpio Barbie-Themed Birthday!

Thank you to everyone who joined our 75 minute Stop Drop and Dance class last Thursday for a Barbie-themed dance party for our birthday gals Lisa Butcher, Allyson Josephs and Jessica Kissane!

We had lots of pink in the room with special appearances by Glam Barbie Jessica, 80's Barbie Lisa, Ballerina Barbie Pam, Tennis Barbie Jen, Referee Barbie Erin, and Sleeping Barbie Grace! Thank you also to Amaya, who danced up front for her mama Allyson!

We raised over $3000 for Marin Country Day School!

Thank you to the 123 MCDS families that bought tickets during their spring auction to join our Stop Drop and Dance fundraiser last Thursday evening!

MCDS opened up their gym for all of us to dance together and did a great job setting up black lights on the stage too! A huge thank you goes out to my two backup dancer moms, Liza Yee and Amanda Furlotti, who danced in front of everyone the whole hour! Another thank you goes to Caroline Carolan for organizing the event and Nihal ElRayess for connecting us!

So much sweaty fun and the youngest girls were motivated to dance the whole time so that they would be rewarded with a Taylor Swift free dance song!

Our next school dance fundraiser will be on November 17th  for the entire Glenwood Elementary School Dance-a-thon!  If you are a past, present, or future parent of kids at Glenwood, please join us at 11:30am to help be backup dancers!

6th Grade Moms Retreat

Last week, my older daughter had her 6th grade outdoor education overnight trip for 4 days and 3 nights to Pinnacles National Park.

They slept in tents, hiked 7 miles everyday, rock-climbed real mountains, went stargazing, washed their own dishes, made skits, explored a cave, and did not shower.  I repeat, did not shower.  For 4 days.

Since 6th grade is the start of 3 years of middle school, plus there are a whole bunch of new families and faces, the kindergarten and yoga teacher in me decided to lead a 4-hour 6th grade moms retreat with the intention of building stronger connections.

I am so grateful to these moms pictured below who said YES to coming and took off time from work on a Friday to prioritize bonding and journeying into deeper relationships with ourselves, our kids, and one another.

We meditated, journaled, shared, practiced yoga, ate, laughed, and a few tears might have been shed too, because:

  • Being a mom of a tween is hard.
  • Us hard-working moms need community with others who understand our current challenges.
  • Our kiddos are constantly trying new and uncomfortable things, and we should too.
  • Opening up our hearts and being vulnerable is scary, but it is always necessary for growth to happen.
  • We are doing our best and that is enough!

If you are looking for a facilitator to lead a custom team-building day retreat for your company, school, club, or organization, please reach out!

Vanilla Ice in the HOUSE!

Last Saturday was our Stop Drop and Dance Halloween dress-up class and we were already 10 minutes or so into class, when a car pulls into the garage right as we were dancing to "Ice Ice Baby."

Of ALL songs to enter into, Lisa Parker shows up as a Vanilla Ice look-alike and of course we had to call her up to the front! She leveled up by staying in character and freestyling with her dollar bills raining down everywhere! Absolutely the BEST!

Moments like these are what we love about our Power With Grace community.

So much of life is filled with negativity.
With being right.
With holding on to grudges.
To living on drama.
To promoting hate.
To fear.
To fulfilling egos.
To putting on a fake face and a fake persona.
To showing off to social media.

Moments like these are liberating.
Be real.
Be alive.
Be free to be you!!!
And seriously, be silly!
Smile!
Laugh!
FEEL THAT JOY!
Let goooooooo....

Happy Halloween (NO CLASS TOMORROW!)

See you the next morning on November 1st to burn off some of that Halloween candy with HIIT at 9:30am and/or yoga at 10:45am
(don't forget Wednesdays are always a 2 for 1 deal!)
