Dear Friends,
Happy Birthday Andrea Spencer and Joan Murphy!
This Tuesday, March 31st, please join us at UUMarin (240 Channing Way in San Rafael) for a 75 minute Stop Drop and Dance class celebrating Andrea and Joan's birthdays!
Both Andrea and Joan are members who come regularly to class. Andrea has been coming since our MPY days pre-pandemic and she is known for her high-energy Da Da Ding jumps from our very first Stop Drop and Dance-a-thon in San Francisco in 2019!
Joan stands in the back of the room, but she stands out because she always comes to class with beautiful bright lipstick! Sharon Mor had the brilliant idea of making "bright lipstick" her birthday theme!
Please wear BRIGHT LIPSTICK to class this Tuesday, and wear workout clothes that match your lips!

No Class Next Week!
Please note that there will be no classes next week for Easter and Spring Break beginning this Saturday, April 4th through next Saturday, April 11th. Classes will resume on Tuesday, April 14th.
All previously-live classes from the past few weeks are recorded and available on-demand so that you can continue working out from home at your own convenience. Members have access to all classes and non-members can purchase classes on-demand a-la-carte on the website.

Happy Birthday QUEENS!
On Saturday, we showed up in Black and Gold or Silver clothes to celebrate Marianne Jacobson’s birthday and Barbara Robert's special 70th Birthday with a 60 minute Stop Drop and Dance class made up of their favorite songs!
Thank you to everyone who joined class, to our hosts who brought tiaras and crown pins for everyone, and to Erin Meyers, Sara Chunbolt, and Jennifer Lee, for decorating our gold and silver backdrop!Barbara even brought in her whole family including her husband, two sons, daughter-in-law, sister, and brother-in-law to dance with us! We had a blast meeting her lovely family.
Wear your crown ladies! You are queens!

When The Stars Align
Theatre is my 8th grade daughter's main activity and she has done every single Fall Play and Spring Musical at her current school, so it was no question she would be part of this final production before graduating. But the unexpected happened when my younger daughter's soccer coach happened to move her practices to the weekends due to another coaching obligation, and all of a sudden, she was able to participate for the first (and probably only) time.
When the school announced that the Spring Musical would be, “Disney’s Descendants," back in December, something stirred in my heart. Both girls would actually be at the same place 3x a week. Descendants was actually a modern 2015 movie with my style of pop and hip hop heavy dancing. My worlds of being an elementary school teacher 20 years ago and my current life of being a dance teacher, collided.
I knew I would regret not stepping into the role of being the Choreographer for my girls.
The last 4 days were the performances and it was sold out yesterday and today. I am so honored to have worked alongside the magical staff and team of parent volunteers who were a huge part of why the show was so good: building the incredible set, planning the details of costumes, hair, makeup, and props, working with the tech crew, creating programs, supplying food, and on and on! There was even a live six-piece band!
I spent over 100 hours with the kids (and many more hours at home creating original choreography) and I am so incredibly proud of how they performed the past 4 days. I was asked to teach 3 dances, but being the uptight, ambitious perfectionist I am, I taught 10 dances. Hahaha. So yes, the kids had to memorize lines, practice singing, and dance on top of all that.
These 4th-8th graders have genuinely earned a huge standing ovation from me and I am so proud of them!!! There were definitely tears Saturday night!
"You are perfectly cast in your life.
I can't imagine anyone but you in the role.
Go play."
Love,
Grace
