Dear Friends,
Learning to Let Go of Control
This Saturday, October 25th, we will not be having our regular 9:30am Stop Drop and Dance class @UUMarin because it is our special Stinson Beach Women's Day Retreat!
With the help of Karen Wright generously opening up her home, we planned a beautiful day outdoors on the beach and in her backyard with dancing, small group sessions, and vision board crafting.
Unfortunately, the forecast is not in our favor and rain is coming Friday night through Saturday, with the best-case scenario that it stops raining mid-morning (please pray for the rain to stop by 10am!).
Everything I had planned is getting thrown up in the air, and now I am preparing a Plan B with a modified itinerary and everything indoors (which is NOT ideal considering we have 60 people in a 4 bedroom house...).
But it is what it is, and I decided to not cancel the event because my number one intention for hosting this one-day retreat was and still is, building community. And just making time to gather together, is a very rare and special treat for us all.
After I emailed the retreat attendees about being flexible with our plans and possibly dancing in the rain, Laura Briggs replied:
"Let Go and Let God is my mantra these days!"
Amen to that!!!

All Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday Stop Drop and Dance classes are on Zoom or at @UUMarin (240 Channing Way, San Rafael), and starting in November, all Wednesday Strength & Stretch classes are ONLY on Zoom (no more in-person Wednesdays).

A Tribute to Chicago
Last weekend, I had a wonderful time traveling with my junior high girlfriends to the amazing city of Chicago!
Photo highlights and video highlights included a bike tour, boat tour, and walking everywhere: Riverwalk, Navy Pier, Millenium Park, Magnificent Mile and Buckingham Fountain. It was also super exciting stepping out of our hotel and being right in the middle of the No Kings! protest with over 200,000 Chicagoans!
Food options were also incredible and we had deep dish pizza, bought all of our daughters' personalized jars at the Nutella cafe, and we splurged at the 3-Michelin-Star restaurant, Alinea, where Marianne Jacobson's son, Zac, took great care of our group. He even specially opened a bottle of wine for us called, "A Tribute to Grace!"
We really lucked out too because we brought California weather to Chicago and it was in the 70's!
So... I guess it's only fair that I'm bringing some of the typical Chicago weather back to California with the rain coming tomorrow evening...
Here's to letting go of what we can't control and trusting God to make the plans. All we CAN control is choosing everyday to be positive, stay grateful, and make our own sunshine!
