Dear Friends,
B4BC Be Healthy Get Active!
Thank you to all of you who joined us in all shades of pink last Saturday for our 9th B4BC - Boarding for Breast Cancer - #BeHealthyGetActive Stop Drop and Dance fundraiser. You helped us raise $652!
B4BC hosts year-round grassroots events, educational outreach, and survivor wellness retreats to further its mission of promoting early detection and a healthy, active lifestyle as the best means of breast cancer prevention.
Thank you to our wonderful B4BC co-founder and dance host, Lisa Hudson, as well as B4BC, for gifting all in-person dancers a Sun Bum Mineral SPF 50 Roll On Sunscreen, custom neck gaiters for skiing or boarding, LivOn Labs Vitamin C supplements, and Pura Vida bracelets! Most importantly, Lisa brought educational materials including breast molds to help everyone feel the difference between fibrous tissues versus a potential cancer lump.
In addition, we are grateful for our behind-the-scene volunteers, Catherine Granville, Erin Meyers and Molly Burke, who helped to decorate, set-up and clean-up our dance church.
Congratulations to Lisa and B4BC for celebrating their 29th year of making a difference and saving lives!

A few months ago, one of my younger daughter's classmate asked if we wanted to join them for a mother-daughter outing to the Dua Lipa concert. At first, I said probably not because, well, it's expensive! And I felt like it was a bit much without it being for her birthday present or some major occasion like that.
However, I thought about it more, and two reasons changed my mind.
1) I decided that I really like this friend of my daughter, but we don't really have mother daughter hangouts, so I thought it would be special to help foster the relationship between our families.
2) Dua Lipa's tour is called RADICAL OPTIMISM. I mean... she is speaking my language completely. This is what she wrote on her album when it came out last year in 2024:
"In 2021, a friend of mine told me about the term radical optimism and said that's what the world collectively needed. That term has stuck with me for these past three years and has become more and more relevant to the way I view the everyday. Nothing is ever linear, and sometimes you just gotta roll with the punches. These past years have taught me exactly that. I found my ground while relaxing in instability. I found happiness and joy in the unknown. I find optimism in the toughest days and look to them for growth. Embracing the power of words to be a catalyst for hope, I try to find beauty and meaning even in the midst of chaos."

Radical Optimism!
So, my daughter and I went last night to watch Dua Lipa at Chase Center, and you guys, the whole time I kept thinking...
Why did WE not organize a Stop Drop and Dance trip there?!
The stage was a circle in the middle and the standing room on the floor would have been perfect for our group to DANCE! Dua Lipa played all 5 songs that we have choreography to: Dance the Night, Don't Start Now, Electricity, Levitating, and of course Physical! At least I got to text one dancer, Kathy Brown, who was seated across the arena, but dancing by myself in the stands is not quite the same.
I SO wish you guys were there with me!!!
Oh well, I guess the next best thing is that I'll play my Dua Lipa songs tomorrow in class! And yes, by popular request, I choreographed two songs from Taylor Swift's new album, so I'll teach them this week.
Hope to see you Tuesday and/or Thursday!
Love,
Grace
