Dear Friends,
We're Going Shopping!
A few years ago, I was asked to teach a Stop Drop and Dance class alongside mothers and daughters from the San Rafael National Charity League Chapter. It was a donation class where people could bring diapers in exchange for the class and they titled it, "Dance For Diapers!" The diapers were collected for the Postpartum Support Center in Marin, and this is when I was first introduced to this non-profit organization.
Over the summer, my daughters and I started volunteering a few hours every week for the Postpartum Support Center and we help wherever possible, from organizing donations they receive, to folding baby clothes, to greeting pregnant moms, new and young families, and help them pick up diapers, clothing and other essentials for their children, free of charge. It is quite a wonderful service for families in need to feel like they can go shopping without actually paying anything.
From now until Thanksgiving weekend, will you help us stock up the Holiday Toy Shop for the Postpartum Support Center?
There are 2 ways to donate:
1) Bring a NEW, UNWRAPPED toy for a 4-10 year old to any of our classes from now until Thanksgiving: Thursday, November 27th.
2) If you do not have time to shop or drop off a gift, another easy way to help is to donate to our shopping spree until Saturday, November 29th.
The next day on Sunday, November 30th, we will use all the funds we raise to buy as many gifts as possible and then on Monday, December 1st, we will deliver all the gifts we purchase to the Postpartum Support Center Holiday Toy Shop!
Thank you for helping families who use the Postpartum Support Center Diaper Bank select gifts for their children and ease the financial burden of the holidays.

We will begin the evening at 6pm with mingling and munching, break into small groups for conversation and bonding, then finish with ornament shopping!

UUMarin has a special event so we are unable to rent the space. Enjoy your weekend!

"Dancing is the freedom of the soul."
- Maggie Butcher, 10 years old
This past week, Lisa Butcher found this post-it in her house and it was written by her 10-year-old daughter, Maggie. Even sweeter is that Maggie wanted to record a video for me about it:
"Hi Grace, so... I'm the one that started to spread this around, and I think you're gonna love it. 'Dancing is the freedom of the soul.' Cuz like basically when you're dancing, basically your soul is letting out all the freedom, and just the excitement, and all that! I love dancing!"
Yes, Maggie, yes!!!
You completely get it!!!
Kids are so wise, aren't they??
Have a wonderful week everyone,
Grace
