Dear Friends,
What I Have Done
I read about the shooting at Robb Elementary School.
I felt sick to my stomach as I waited for events to unfold.
I heard Steve Kerr's fired-up speech.
I saw posts from many angry friends about our inadequate gun laws.
I cried as kids and teachers were slowly becoming identified.
I expressed my own feelings in social media posts.
I tried and failed to process everything going on.
I shared about the tragedy with my girls.
I questioned the lack of police involvement when it mattered most.
I empathized with the heartbroken parents and families.
I couldn't believe the husband of 4th grade teacher, Irma Garcia, died of a heart attack, on top of everything.
I felt horrified and helpless.

What I Have Not Done
It's time to unfreeze from the shock, sadness, and disgust at the type of country we live in, and actually take some action. Yes we need to fight gun laws. Yes we need more mental health education and awareness. Yes we need the police institutions to improve all around.
But right now, the most immediate need is to lift up these poor families who have lost their loved ones. Please join our 24-hour fundraiser and let's donate to these families together in the link below, dance or no dance!
(With your donation, you are invited to our Stop Drop and Dance class this Saturday, May 28th from 9:30am-10:45am, either on Zoom, in-person in San Rafael, or you will get the recording of class for 2 days afterwards to do on-demand. Let's lift one another up in community and we'll also be celebrating Robin Walter and Leslie Dinham's birthdays!)

Any little bit counts.
Let's do more than just feel.
Let's get it done.
Sending you much love and gratitude,
Grace
