Dear Friends,

Wear Multicolored Clothing Tuesday!

Please join us Tuesday, September 16th at 9:30am @UUMarin for a 75 minute Stop Drop and Dance class as we celebrate our very own Nicole Todd Bailey becoming an author with her first children's book, Multicolored MONONO!

"Multicolored Monono is a metaphorical tale reflecting the confusion, loneliness, and courage that children can experience when they are dissimilar to their peers. The title character, Monono, is a one-of-a-kind multicolored crayon who longs to belong in the classroom but faces exclusion and unkindness from the traditional crayons who are part of matching sets. Ultimately, Monono finds a path to happiness and self-assurance by drawing on inner strength, individual talent, and a partnership with another unique classroom member."

- Lane of Our Own (Nicole's Website)

If you already pre-ordered her book, you can bring it tomorrow to get it signed.  And even if you didn't, Nicole is a regular PWG member so you can always find her in one of our future classes to get her autograph!  Let's support Nicole's journey and share Multicolored MONONO with family, friends, and educators!

Congratulations on becoming an author Nicole!

Anonymous Fundraiser Thursday for a Family in Need!

This Thursday, September 18th at 9:30am @UUMarin will be a fundraiser class organized by one of the dancers in our community who is taking initiative to raise money towards a fund for the children of a local (anonymous) family in need.

This family lost their chief breadwinner and we would like to support direct provision of material items (clothes, notebooks, school supplies, snack food) that are needed to prepare the kids to succeed in school and to be cared for solidly.

Efforts are in early stages to create a trust or some sort of formal ongoing fund as an ongoing pillar of support as these kids grow up in our community.

Many thanks for your generosity with any size contribution!

Happy Birthday to our GODDESS Catherine Granville!

We had a glowing and electric Stop Drop and Dance birthday celebration for Catherine last Thursday with the theme, “Come as your Inner Goddess!”

Catherine is the creator of beautiful jewelry at Radiant Sea Studio and has been one of our loyal members since before the pandemic at Marin Power Yoga. We are grateful Catherine said yes to a birthday class and allowed herself “2 Be Loved (Lizzo)” by all of us!

Thank you also to Erin Meyers who once again outdid herself with decorations by hand-making a “Goddess” banner because she couldn’t find a premade one at the store!

Thank you to all of the dancers who were able to dance with our Goddess Catherine!

Ups and Downs

I'm not sure how today became a mixture of awesome and awful (don't worry, nothing too major), but this newsletter was supposed to be sent out 10 hours ago and I had planned to conclude with some positive, uplifting words.

But... enough annoying little things happened (let's just say the final topper was finding dog poop in my bedroom) that writing about joy and happiness is not feeling very authentic right now.

So today, I'm signing off with this quote, and then I'm going to bed, resetting my heart, and waking up ready for an inevitably wonderful morning celebrating Nicole's book launch!  Hope to see many of you tomorrow!

"... and sometimes, life is just hard, and some days are just rough... and some days you just gotta cry before you can move forward... (and all of that is ok).

Love,

Grace
