Dear Friends,

Invite your friends for a guaranteed memorable evening combining our signature Stop Drop and Dance class with silent disco headsets and a taco bar dinner, all while enjoying the beach, the sand, and the sunset!

We are celebrating Lisa Butcher's 50th birthday and she has picked the theme: pink, black, and/or gold!

Next Monday, October 12th, is the LAST day to sign up because we have to pre-order silent disco headsets!

SHADY LADIES Theme This Thursday!

Please join us this Thursday, October 8th from 9:30am-10:45am on Zoom or in-person at UUMarin (240 Channing Way in San Rafael) as we celebrate a joint birthday Stop Drop and Dance class for Pamela Flores and Kim Lewis!

They picked the fun theme "Shady Ladies," so please wear a pair of kooky, cool, or plain 'ol glasses of any kind! Hope you can join us!

This is our Pink Pony Club!

Sometimes we dance for fun.
Sometimes we dance to make a difference.

Thank you to all the dancers and donors who helped us raise $1637 for Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) this past weekend. It was our 7th annual (and 9th) fundraiser and we have raised $29,114 over the years by dancing together!

B4BC’s mission is to educate young people about early detection and to promote healthy, active lifestyles as the best means of breast cancer prevention.

Thank you to B4BC’s co-founder, Lisa Hudson, for collaborating with us for the past 7 years, and to all the sponsors that gave out goodies: LivOn Labs Vitamins, Sunbum Facial Scrubs, and Proda Protein sodas.

A special shoutout also goes to our six honorary survivors who bravely came up front to speak about their breast cancer journey: Shel, Karisa Stuart, Susan Schroeder, Amy Poirier, Ashley Stachon, and Shelley Marwah.  One more thank you goes to Catherine Granville and Ariana Amini on their hard work decorating, setting up, and breaking down for the event.

Happy 30th Anniversary B4BC!

Top Left: Our amazing Kathleen Dowd and her partner Eric T. Brandt were featured on the cover of Alzheimer's Today Magazine with the help of Karin's amazing PR skills!

Top Right: Our talented Megan Conley is in the process of creating her stained glass work website! Reach out to her if you would like to design a piece for you!

Bottom Left: Karin Conn out in the music scene as usual!

Bottom Right: Leslie Dinham and Elizabeth Valosek went to watch Barbara Roberts' in her College of Marin play, "Defying Gravity," playing for another two weeks!  Go see her performance!

Brookside Elementary show of solidarity today at 6pm.

Thank you to Kathy Green for sharing the horrible news that this past weekend, Brookside in San Anselmo, was vandalized with a swastika and hate language against Jews. Today, Tuesday, October 6th, there will be a short informal gathering at 6:00pm on the blacktop area to stand together against antisemitism and hate. Please join Kathy and other dancers if you can make it!

"In a world where you can be anything
I'll be kind to you
Could you be kind to me?"

- Zak Abel

Thank you, friends, for continually showing me a glimpse of a world where it IS possible to lead with kindness and celebrate each other's differences. Every class where we get to dance together is a renewal of hope inside my heart that there are truly good people spreading love in this world. That's YOU.

Love,

Grace
