DAI DAI Saturday & FLOWERS Tuesday!

September 13, 2026

September 14, 2026

Dear Friends,

It's National Dance Day on Saturday!

Last month, thank you to everyone who came to join our special choreography class to learn the "Voicemails for Isabelle" routine, Robyn's "Dancing On My Own!"  Even one of the actresses in the movie liked our dance video on Instagram!!!

THIS Saturday, September 19th, please join us at 9:30am @uumarin (240 Channing Way, San Rafael) as we celebrate National Dance Day with another one-hour special choreography class - this time to learn Shakira's World Cup Finals halftime performance of "Dai Dai!"

Please note this Saturday class will not be our usual Stop Drop and Dance format.  Instead, we will break down the counts and movements slowly, repeat and practice choreography until everyone feels comfortable, and then record it as a whole group at the end (optional).  This format requires a bit more mental challenge, but it always feels so rewarding at the end to accomplish the routine together!  Anyone can join!

Please come ON TIME (or a few minutes early) so you don't miss any of the choreography, and wear yellow, pink, and/or orange!

Wear Flowers for Karen Tuesday!

Please join us THIS Tuesday, September 15th at 9:30am @uumarin (240 Channing Way, San Rafael) for a 65 minute Stop Drop and Dance birthday class for Karen Wright!

Karen chose the theme FLOWERS, so wear something comfortable you can dance in!

Karen is super generous for opening up her home the second year in a row for our upcoming Stinson Beach DANCE PARTY!!!  See below for more details if you missed the announcement last week.  We are so lucky to have her as part of our community!!!

Happy Birthday Karen!

Check Out Our New Flyer!

Happy Birthday Catherine Granville!

We celebrated Catherine’s birthday last Thursday with a 65 minute hot and sweaty Stop Drop and Dance class made up of her favorite songs!

Catherine chose a mermaid theme, so we came in all shades of blue and turquoise clothes. In addition, she brought fun shell hair clips for all of us to accessorize our outfits with! Thank you to Erin Meyers for her spontaneous and perfect dollar store backdrops and Happy Birthday also to Shel Saxon who was brought up front by Catherine to dance one of the songs!

After class, we did some shopping! If you’re looking for some beautiful, unique, ocean and nature inspired jewelry, check out Catherine’s small business, Radiant Sea Studio!

Congratulations on truly becoming an amazing jewelry maker Catherine!

Dancers in the Wild!

We love highlighting special events during our week, so thank you for sharing photos to capture these moments!

Top Left: Happy Birthday to Shel Saxon, who was spotted sporting her new NYU tank and hat because her daughter started college there this month!  Congratulations Kayla!

Top Right: Our newest PWG member is Mary Anne Gin, who was one of our original dancers from MPY days, except she used to come with her oldest son to classes.  Now, her youngest daughter is joining us Saturdays and she was only 1 or 2 years old back then!  Please welcome Mary Anne and Sydney when you see them!

Bottom Left: Dancers Angela Hart, Lisa Butcher, Keala Landry, Barb Untermann, and Erin Meyers spotted together at the Marin Catholic College Kegger fundraiser this past Saturday night!  Love the college and sorority sweaters!

Bottom Right: Happiest 15th Birthday to my freshman high schooler who is as sweet as the chocolate bundtini she's holding and as kind as the happy face on her shirt.  This was the quote that she chose last year for her 8th grade graduation photo in the school yearbook:

"Make someone smile every day,

but never forget that you are someone too."

Have a wonderful week!  Hope to see you for Karen's birthday on Tuesday or for our National Dance Day Dai Dai class on Saturday!

Love,

Grace
